Bethel District Special Education Update
Amy Tidwell, Bethel Special Services Director, reached out to parents via email today to update them on the District’s move to distance learning, and how it relates to special education.
“We are discovering during the school closure that what we know today may be changed tomorrow.”
—Amy Tidwell, Bethel Special Services Director
In the email, Tidwell advises that the District “will have a plan rolled out by April 13th.”
She writes that parents will receive phone calls from their child’s case manager to discuss with them “how to ensure that your child has an equal opportunity to access the Distance Learning that will be provided by the District. The case manager will also discuss with you how the needs identified in your child’s IEP might be addressed during this closure.”
In addition, attached to the email is a Special Services FAQ, which addresses some potential questions regarding IEP’s and reviews,
