Bethel District To Roll-Out Distance Learning April 13th

The Bethel School District will be rolling out its state-mandated distance learning program on April 13th. Until then, Bethel’s “Enrichment Resources” have been replaced by “Supplemental Resources.”

Schools have mailed out five-day “Supplemental” resources to all families, however, in the future, it’s expected that these resources will only be mailed out to those families who require mailed resources.

Bethel District Special Education Update

Bethel District Moving to Distance Learning

In a March 31st message, Bethel School District Superintendent, Chris Parra, indicated that the entire district will be moving to a distance learning education model for the rest of the school year. This is in response to the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) directive to all school districts as Oregon, in an effort to continue to slow the spread of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

Bethel District Finalizes & Approves Student Investment Application

 

After 20 stakeholder meetings spanning between November 2019 to February 2020, on Monday afternoon, the Bethel School District finalized, and the school board approved, their Student Success Act (SSA) grant application.

With schools across Oregon canceled until April 28th, at the earliest, and social distancing

The objective of social distancing is to reduce the probability of contact between persons carrying an infection, and others who are not infected, so as to minimize disease transmission, morbidity and ultimately, mortality.

By executive order, Oregon Governor Kate Brown, has ordered all public schools to remain closed for another six weeks, through April 28. It’s likely that the shutdown could be extended further depending on a number of factors.
